I started this site in Nov 2004 after experimenting around for 6 months.

In case you are wondering, I'm the second person from the left in this photo on the left.

It was taken in Singapore while we were learning from our mentor, Robert Allen (far right) and his daughter, Amae Elyse Allen (far left) on the path to creating our own wealth.  Together with me are two of my friends who are also in the pursuit of their own financial freedom.  Some of us were also fortunate to have met up with Anthony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki and Daniel Kertcher when they visited Singapore to host their seminars. The new insights gained from these mentors were priceless.

The problem encountered

You must be wondering how did this website come about.  Well after I completed my Masters of Business Admin (MBA), my company sent me to China to help in setting up the local offices and building up the local team to handle new business opportunities in the mainland.

During my course of duties, I put in long hours in my work.  I was rewarded for the effort but as time goes by, I begin to see that putting in X hours in work only brought back Y dollars.  Y does not increase at the same rate as X.  I was getting more tired and stressed out but not financially stronger. My time with my family was also affected.

The turning point came when I had my near-fatal car accident while on the highway in Shanghai, China. After a quick recovery, I started to look actively for opportunities in building up my passive incomes and my financial strength. This started way before my return to Singapore in the year 2002.

My biggest challenge was finding how to build a leverage to grow my financial fortress while maintaining my current day job to bring home the bacon.  I needed ways to increase Y income while reducing X hour. To me, that is the formula to financial freedom.

The solution

In my hunt for the solution, I came upon the book Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.  The content radically changes my outlook of life. Then one event lead to another and soon later, I met up with other mentors (I will highlight some of them in the various sections of this site). I started climbing my own wealthmountains while building up my skills.

I then went into stock market, internet and info-product publishing with success. Through my search, I have analyzed numerous products and solutions. The results are what I have summarized in this website.

I aim to help you focus on your business with the best tools and tips found in this site rather than having you to go and hunt for them. This will save you time, effort and money.

Why Trust Me?

Well first of all, I am a real person with real life experiences. My communication channels are opened with links to chat with me or contact me found easily on the top right hand corner of each page on this site. I do not hide behind an anonymous screen.

I believe giving good services and recommendations is key to building up my business and your trust in me. We are in this for the long term. For that reasons, I spent time in research and work so that you only find good tools. If you do find some recommendations that are not suitable, do contact me and I will rectify my site accordingly.

I fund this site setup myself with no intervention or control from other product owners. I however only earn commission from the products and services that promoted on this site. This commission is paid by the sellers. You do not pay extra when you purchase from links on my site. In exchange for that, I only provide you recommendations to high quality products and services.

In addition to the above, I also publish my own free newsletter and information products which are of use to all my visitors.  This will allow me to keep you up-to-date on the different paths that you can explore in your mountain climb.

My Credentials

Academically, I had obtained my MBA. By training, I am an IT project manager who is also a Certified IS Auditor (CISA). I focus on network, security and management areas. In my day-time job, I had worked with many multi-national companies (MNC) and government bodies. In my largest project, I managed an infrastructure which served a customer base of 60,000+ users over 200+ sites. The experiences had trained me to look at things from a user's perspective. I learnt to tackle every problem one step at a time.

Recreationally, I trained hard in qigong, wushu and full-contact sparring under various masters.  With the effort spent, I was fortunate to have win gold medals in various Chinese Martial Arts competitions at National level while performing at charity shows and during holiday celebrations.  I was also invited twice to compete in the China (Zhengzhou) International Shaolin Wushu Festival before I retired in the year 2000 to focus on my career. Throughout these 10 years of training, I learnt to be focused in my tasks. A skill which carries into my career and personal life and form part of what I termed as Personal Mastery.

In terms of the wealth mountains, I have experiences in stock market, internet and information book creation.

I started in the stock market mountain in the late 1990s and was able to build up my portfolio with increasing returns over the years. I had also started on Option Trading in 2004 and had made mistakes along the way. The same mistakes which I hope you would not made by following the tips in this site. With guidance from mentors and useful tools, I had slowly increased the winning odds in option tradings from -30% to 20% within a short span of 6 months. During my own exploring and testing, I have also added in new techniques and tips.

I started exploring the internet mountain in 1995 but only really got into it as a business in the year 2003. There was not a lot of courses in this area and hence I read and bought whatever products and books I could lay my hands on. I also sought out gurus to help me in this area. I started experimenting with the knowledge gained.  The summary of results are as follow:

• Started my first test website for $0 in 2004 selling information products. This was my learning ground as I invested in large amount of time to tune my skills in the various areas (eg. marketing, web design, search engine optimizing). The test website is at testsoho.tripod.com. I had stopped updating that test site to move over to this website fulltime. You can see my previous site ranking by clicking here. It obtained first page listing in Google, Yahoo, MSN Search, Overture and AltaVista within 4 weeks of submission of listing. I did not pay any advertising fees in this experiment.

• As seen in chart below, my leads are from various countries including Singapore, USA, Canada, Japan, UK, Australia, Romania, Mexico and Malaysia during my first 2 months of operations.  The number of page views has grown steadily over the months.
  

• I had learnt from this experience. Along the way, I have also setup my own webstore at http://testsoho.vstoremarket.com selling physical products. I learn some important lessons there.  Besides, that I have also setup my own bookstore but that didn't work out as planned.

• From my test site, I earned my first paycheck of $267.30 within my 3 weeks of operation. (see results below)

• Encouraged by the above results, I had started this website.

I had my first experience with writing a book when I worked on my MBA dissertation paper. In that experience, I was one of the co-writers for the book "Business Opportunities in Western Canada: British Columbia and Alberta", Prentice Hall, 2000.  The interviews conducted during our Business Study Mission trip to Canada; the numerous rounds of editing and the format of the book were but only some of the tasks to perform when creating an information product.

In case you are wondering, this book can be found in the reference section of the Business School Library in Nanyang Technological University of Singapore and in the National Library of Singapore. It is no longer on sale by Prentice Hall and Amazon. This is one of those books which is of high academic value but would need to be updated regularly in order to be relevant commercially. This is another lesson that I learn in infopreneuring (ie. need to be relevant to the market).

From the above experiences, I am looking forward to working on my next book soon. Before that time comes, I will be busy doing research on the topics. Do look out for it in this website soon.

Summary

This short biography is not meant to show that I am a guru in the above wealth mountains. I have my fair shares of failures and rejections as well. However, in my search, I have reviewed through hundreds if not thousands of websites, products, books and interview with mentors.  Mentors are especially priceless as they can often point you to the correct directions.

I hope to pass those directions to you so that you can cut short your learning curve. And along your path to those directions, I hope to earn from the referrals as well. This will then be a win-win-win solution for all. Win-win-win for yourself, myself and the product/service providers.
